Car Rental
A rental car gives you the freedom and flexibility to take full advantage of all the areas that are included on your lift pass as well as to get out and about during your stay on some fabulous scenic drives or to visit the local outlet shopping mall.
Car rental is arranged through Alamo Rent-a-Car. All vehicles include legal state minimum third party insurance (varies from state to state) and unlimited mileage, and with the option of the pre-bookable packages below so you can relax in the knowledge that everything is taken care of before you arrive: all the insurance cover you need with no surprises to dent your budget!
Rental Period and Car Upgrades
Where a rental car is included in our Price Guides, it is for 7 days. Please note that where flight timings mean the drop-off time is later than the pick-up time, an extra day’s charge will apply. A ski holiday can often mean a few extra bags for ski boots etc., so be sure to choose a vehicle large enough for your party and your luggage, using the guide below to help.

Where included in our Price Guides, vehicles are on a rental and unlimited mileage basis, as well as CDW in Canada. There are certain obligatory fees and costs attached with car rental, as well as extra insurance cover which is highly recommended - BUT if you take Alamo’s pre-bookable “Fully Inclusive” or “Gold” options you can be arranging all these before you go – this saves you time on arrival and money compared to local costs. Other Charges
Young Drivers You must be at least 21 years old to drive a hire car in the USA and Canada. Drivers between 21 and 24 years inclusive pay a supplement of US/CA$25 + tax per day locally.
Ski Racks are included when booking the Fully Inclusive or Gold packages for the USA and will automatically be added to your booking where vehicle type permits. For Canada, ski racks should be requested at time of booking and paid for locally CA$7.50 per day.
Child Seats Compulsory for children 6 years & under. US/CA$6.99 + tax per day, payable locally with US/CA$50 refundable deposit. Please request at time of booking.
One-way rentals If you collect your hire car in one location but return it to another, a one-way drop-off charge will be payable locally. This fee varies depending on pick-up and drop-off location. We will advise you of the relevant charge at time of booking and payment will be required on arrival. (One-way rentals are not allowed with Economy range vehicles)
Other Useful Information
Snow Chains are not allowed on Alamo rental vehicles and road clearance is excellent. Should you fit chains to your hire car of your own accord, any resulting damage to the car will void the CDW and you will be liable for any costs incurred. You may wish to consider upgrading your car to a 4x4 before you travel as these may not always be available locally on arrival.
Drop-off Times A rental day is any period of 24 hours, so you must return your car at the same time of day as when you collected it. If you exceed this time, you will be charged the cost of an extra day’s hire locally.
Driving Licences All drivers must have held a full licence for at least 12 months and this must be presented when collecting the car. An international driving licence is not required but if you have a photocard licence you must take the original paper counterpart as well.
